    Design & permitting

We size your system to your home's actual thermal load and handle the full permitting process with the City of Chicago, Cook County, and surrounding municipalities across the Chicago area. We also prepare and file all ComEd rebate and GREC paperwork on your behalf.

Compact geothermal drill rig operating in a narrow Chicago backyard

    Yes, it fits your lot

Our proprietary compact drill rigs fit through garden gates as narrow as 32 inches — making geothermal possible on Chicago's tight urban lots and suburban properties with restricted access where traditional rigs can't go.

    What we install

We install WaterFurnace and Enertech heat pumps — among the most efficient forced-air geothermal systems in the U.S. Self-contained indoor units mean no noisy outdoor condenser, and select models include a desuperheater for supplementary hot water savings. Earth Power is certified by IGSHPA, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Illinois Commerce Commission.

    Service & repair

Ongoing maintenance, diagnostics, and repair for geothermal systems — both units we install and systems installed by others. Keep your equipment running at peak efficiency for the full 20–25 year heat pump lifespan.

What it does for your home

    • Lower energy costs. Geothermal leverages the earth's constant underground temperature to dramatically cut heating and cooling costs year-round. Going all-electric also eliminates your $40/month gas meter charge and unlocks ComEd's Space Heating rate — cutting the Distribution Facilities Charge in half for an additional 10–20% drop in your total electric bill.
    • Reliable in extreme weather. Unlike air-source heat pumps that struggle in extreme cold and pull 2–4× more electricity, geothermal delivers consistent performance through Chicago's harshest winters and summers.
    • Healthier indoor air. Geothermal eliminates all combustion from your home — no carbon monoxide risk, no gas byproducts.
    • An appreciating asset. The ground loop lasts 50–100 years and increases in value as installation costs rise ~5% annually.
